In 1890 the wealthy merchant Rudolph Christensen moved into his 13-room grand apartment on the second floor with his wife Mrs Elina Christensen and three children. The apartment was refurbished by the best decorators between 1890 and 1914, and nothing has been changed since then.
The visit to this unique apartment gives a good insight into the daily life of the bourgeoisie and the world around 1900. We visit both the room where the guests came, and the areas in which only the servants or the family set foot.
The guided tour takes place in danish by a guide from the National Museum. I will translate into English. It is a unique experience to come inside a Copenhagen apartment that has been untouched for over 120 years.
