Hi, there! My profile as a guide might seem a bit unorthodox, but if you're looking for an authentic experience, you'll be happy to bear with me for a few more lines and find out about my background.

I have a PhD in Sociology and my thesis led me to find more about the way we construct our identities in intercultural social spaces. I was very lucky to spent two years studying abroad, first in Padova, Italy, as an ERASMUS student, then in Bordeaux, France, where I did the anthropological research for my thesis.

Subjects such as mobility, intercultural communication and tourism are very dear to my heart. And I am, therefore, very interested in the way cultural differences shape our experience and enrich us.

In the off-season, I work at the University in research, as well as a lecturer, teaching Sociology.

I invite you to visit my country and let me aid you in discovering my home to... [More]

We took the 101 tour with Alina. She is a great tour guide and we would recommend her 101 tour. She was engaging and entertaining and very flexible to our interests and comfort. We took a short break in an outdoor cafe to rest our feet and she had prepared a list of Romanian phrases and information about the alphabet/ language. She took us to some of the hidden churches around the city center as well as the major sites (like Revolution square). She is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about Bucharest and Romanian history. We were also interested in local wines and she was very helpful with recommendations for wine bars and vintages.

We had the most wonderful time on our tour with Alina! Alina is very friendly, knowledgeable and the tour is very flexible. We saw various sides of Bucharest, from the middle ages and 19th century through beautiful "little Parisian" villas to the remains of the Soviet area. The tour really open up the city to us and showed us places we would not have seen otherwise, such as little hidden away churches and cafes in the backyards. Highly recommended!
