Secret Bike and Hike to Muir Woods

This bike and hike tour leaves from Sausalito where we pedal on the beautiful bay to the charming town of Mill Valley. From there we lock our bikes and hike to the entrance of Muir Woods National Park along hidden stairways and unmarked trails. During the tour I'll cover the very interesting and international history of Mill Valley, Muir Woods, John Muir, Sausalito, forestry, trees, birds, wildlife, etc. The tour ends at the entrance to the Muir Woods park where you can enter the park or return with me to Mill Valley. The biking is easy, the hike is strenuous there, easy return.

1:30 pm depart Sausalito via bicycle
2:30 pm begin hike to Muir Woods
4:00 pm begin return hike to Mill Valley (optional)

Provide your own bike and lock.
Bike rentals are available in San Francisco, if coming from SF, you will bike across the Golden Gate Bridge or ferry to Sausalito where you will meet me.
Dress in layers, wear comfortable shoes (hiking boots not required).
Must bring a water bottle.
Bring food, snacks, drinks, sunscreen, etc. - nothing is available for purchase on the trail.
Expect breezes or wind on the bike ride, the ride is flat, the hike is anything but flat.
