Up Country Farm Tour

The tour begins at Whole Foods Kahului, Maui where we pick you up in our beautiful eight passenger bus with giant picture windows. We head for scenic Ho'okipa Beach Park for magnificent photos overlooking the wind surfing capital of the world. Then we head up through pineapple country where your guide Rick Lopes was born and raised on Maui. We give a colorful history along the way to Ulupalakua Ranch and Maui's Winery. We picnic under one hundred and fifty year old trees and take time to feel the country air and step back in time.

Then it's off to Kula Country Farms overlooking all of West Maui below. They lease over 180 acres to grow strawberries, pumpkins, onions, flowers and whatever is in season. We shop for veggies, fruits and tropical flowers and take pictures of the gorgeous scenery. Then we head to the Lavender Farm for a scented walking tour, tea and scones. It's a rich and diverse agricultural experience and so wonderful to be escorted to the country on Maui in a comfortable bus by Marilyn Jansen Lopes (author, artist and registered nurse) and her Portuguese local boy husband Rick who give all the attention to the details of your journey.

The picnic lunch includes delicious sandwiches prepared by Whole Foods Market in Kahului, big cookies and local tropical fruits such as pineapple, apple bananas, watermelon, lilikoi and papayas. The sandwich choices are Turkey-Bacon-Avocado-Aioli, Italian Sub or Veggie all served on Ciabattas everyone loves. Please choose sandwich at time of booking. There is a wine tasting at Maui's Winery too.

Tour includes lunch and snacks as well as water and juice served throughout the day.
