We will tour the thriving community gardens, greenmarkets (bring shoulder bags and cash!) and any other green places that strike our fancy in downtown NYC.
These walks will take us to some of my favorite spots for respite from the noise and mayhem of the city streets. We can get coffee or tea and take-out lunch and eat in a garden or other beautiful spot. I know all the most interesting routes through The Village (East and West), Tribeca, The Battery, Nolita and the Lower East Side. Any part of town except the crowded tourist sites.
My aim is to show off the thriving greenmarkets and community gardens of NYC and show how they affect availability of nutritious food, peaceful, healthy activities and community in a range of neighborhoods.
I will guide as few as one person but require a minimum 80.00 fee.
50% of my fee goes to City Harvest.
