The province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa are home to the Zulu people. On this full day tour we take you to the town of Eshowe to visit the set of where the TV series "Shaka Zulu" was filmed.
Today the set is a fantastic tourist attraction that has a full Zulu kraal. A local guide takes us around the Kraal, explaining to us the local traditions of the Zulu people, and showing us how Zulu beer is made, or how the fighting regiments of the Zulu's are formed.
Just before lunch guests are treated to one of the best Zulu dancing shows I have ever seen, the energy is just amazing! Finally, with the Zulu Chief's permission we enjoy a fantastic lunch in the on site restaurant.
Shakaland is situated about 2 hours outside of Durban. I'll collect you and your group from your accommodation anywhere in Durban, and drop you off.
On our way to Shakaland, I'll tell you a bit about the history of Durban, the Zulu people and of course point out the sights along the way.
The entry fees and lunch is included in the price of this tour. Complimentary bottled water is also supplied.
