Details

Do you want to go beyond the tourist safety zone to the most memorable eating experience in New York City? Come on the Midnight Crawl.

Trek down Roosevelt Avenue from Jackson Heights to Corona after the moon comes up, and see the street scene will undergo a dramatic transformation. The avenue comes ALIVE with activity and the flavors emerge as the most unapologetic in NYC. These Ecuadoran, Colombian, Dominican, and Mexican food stops aren't in Frommer's or Zagats, they're not in tourism guides, and you won't even find them on Chowhound, Yelp, or Tripadvisor -- Only on the Midnight Crawl will you experience this street food scene to its full potential.

Itinerary

Tons of food and drink, as well as any fines or other financial burdens that may occur.

This is easily one of the highlights of my trip to New York. Jeff is an amazing guide who loves this Queens neighbourhood, and on a snowy February night, he took me into an NY culture I would never have found on my own. It's a neighbourhood of immigrant Mexicans and Ecuadorians with a seemingly limitless collection of street food trucks and carts on every street corner. On our two-hour walk, Jeff told me about the recent history of this fascinating Central/South American ghetto – plus some of the trouble they've been having with street-food culture and the law. I can't express how different this tour is to anything you'll see or do in New York. Jeff is the right man to show you these streets. Just go. You won't regret it.

I was on the Midnight Street Food Crawl last night with my wife and friends. It was excellent! Our guide Jeff was very knowledgeable, and pretty cool guy. The food was stellar, and the crawl itself provided an interesting perspective on Latin American food & culture in the NYC area. Highly recommended!

This tour really opened our eyes about the food scene in NYC. Far from just Michelin starred restaurants, by the pound salad bars in Midtown or 50 different pizzas made by someone named Ray, New York's cultural melting pot is alive and well! We all owe Jeff a great deal of gratitude in bringing these "hidden" ethnic foods to the surface. His interest and passion in learning about this subject is one of his key strengths. The fact that he continues to learn, ask questions and experiment on each tour makes each one unique and satisfying. Bring a big appetite, a curiosity for adventure and warm jacket (if you choose to go on a Sunday night in December)... then give this tour a whirl, you will unlikely be disappointed.

Jeff's Queens Midnight Street Crawl was fantastic. A true down on the street experience. The food is real and the people are real. Jeff's intimate knowledge of the area and his enthusiasm for the food and the street vendors means you get great food, meet some great people and see a part of New York you probably wouldn't have seen. Do this before Jeff makes it into the Lonely Planet and has to hire a bus!

more than great food, more than culture it was a glimpse into life, a life in queens - after dark! Jeff is open, knowledgable, a guy you feel you have known for years. It was a true travel experience. We loved it!
