The booking is set to activate with a minimum of four guests and a $60 booking commitment. If there are fewer in your party, simply reserve as a party of four. A flat rate of $80 books any group size from six to twelve.

Enjoy an approximately 90-minute walk along the quiet backstreets of this famed posh residential neighborhood, stopping along the way to note stand-out examples of the area's rich collection of architectural forms. Pac Heights is a street-car inner suburb that was spared the destruction of the Great Fire and has always had the means, even in lean economic times as these, to see projects through to completion.

You'll come away with an understanding of San Francisco's
• principal architectural styles, and how to identify them and spot which elements are and aren't original;
• application of historic preservation principles to create a more livable city;
• successful transition from a manufacturing economy to a service- and tourism-based economy

Length of tour ranges from 90 minutes to two hours depending on the interest and ability of the group. An additional gratuity amount payable at the competion of the tour is appreciated but entirely optional.

The Gonzo tour is offered exclusive here and is not available through another tour guide or organization. The tour was created by me and inspired by my residency in the Pac Heights neighborhood and my volunteer tour guide experience for San Francisco Heritage.

My interests include San Francisco's rich alternative arts scene and sampling its seriously-good culinary and imbibing offerings. My musical tastes are all over the map but tend to lean toward jazz, country, rock, and electonica. When I'm not in the city I'm likely to be hiking nearby in the Bay Area or backpacking the Sierras. I have completed a rigorous training program on San Francisco's history, culture, and architecture in order to gain docenting and tour guide credentials for the Bay Area's premier preservation society. I have been with this preservation society in a volunteer capacity since 2004 and served a term on its volunteer advisory committee. Full profile

I took the tour with Jaybee last weekend and it was a great tour! we walked all around Pac Heights and I learned so much about both architecture and history. I highly recommend Jaybee's tour.

The Pac Heights architecture tour was super fun and informative. We learned about different styles that are prevalent in San Francisco - Queen Anne, Victorian, Edwardian, SF Stick Style, and so forth. Jaybee is a vault of knowledge about anecdotes and is a stickler for elegance, beauty, and preservation. We even went into an open house to see the interior of one of the buildings!
